Privacy policy

Thank you for your interest in our inn. Protecting your personal data matters to us. Below we explain which data is collected when you visit this website, what we use it for and what rights you have.

Your rights

You have the right to contact us at any time about any of the following. An informal message by email or a phone call is enough:

  • Information about the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure of your data, where no statutory retention obligation applies (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability in a commonly used format (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)

If you have given us your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Independently of that, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, either the one where you live or the one responsible for us:

Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (data protection commissioner for North Rhine-Westphalia)

Server log files

When you open this website, information transmitted by your browser is recorded automatically. That is the browser type and version, the operating system used, the page visited before (referrer), the host name of the accessing computer, the date and time of the request, and the IP address.

This data is technically necessary so that the pages can be delivered and run stably and securely. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in fault-free operation under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. This data is not merged with other data sources.

We do not analyse these logs ourselves and do not store them permanently. They are created and expire at our host; see the next section for details.

Hosting with Netlify

This website is hosted by Netlify. The provider is Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. When you open our pages, Netlify processes the technical access data described above on our behalf, in particular your IP address.

Netlify acts as a processor on our behalf under Art. 28 GDPR. For the transfer of data to the USA we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. The legal basis for using the service is our legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

You can find Netlify’s data processing agreement at netlify.com/pdf/netlify-dpa.pdfand its privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.

Contact form

If you write to us using the enquiry form, the details you enter, including your contact details, are sent to us. Technically this runs through Netlify Forms, that is, through the host named above.

We use these details solely to answer your enquiry and to prepare a possible booking. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request). Your data stays with us until the matter is settled or you ask us to erase it. Mandatory statutory retention periods, for example under commercial and tax law, remain unaffected.

Typefaces

The typefaces used on this website are stored on our own web space and served from there. No connection is made to servers run by Google or any other provider, and no IP address is passed on to third parties.

Maps and external links

We do not embed a map for directions automatically. At first you see only a preview image. A connection to OpenStreetMap is established, and your IP address transmitted, only once you deliberately start the map with a click. Without that click, no data leaves our page. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

Our pages contain links to external services, for example to our profiles on Instagram and Facebook or to partners in the region. Once you click such a link, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

Cookies and storage on your device

This website does not use any cookies. None of our own and none from third parties, neither for analytics nor for advertising. No advertising network is embedded, we do not evaluate your behaviour and we do not build user profiles.

One single item is stored on your device, and only if you have dismissed a notice yourself: the information that you have seen it. That way it does not reappear on your next visit. The entry stays in your browser, is never sent to us, and you can delete it at any time through your browser settings.

Because this storage does no more than carry out what you asked for with your click, it is permitted without consent under section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG. That is also why no cookie banner appears on this website: there is nothing for you to consent to.

No analytics, no audience measurement

We do not use any analytics services, in particular no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager and no comparable tools. There is no audience measurement, and no data is passed to third parties for analytics purposes.

At most, we get a sense of how many people visit our pages from our host’s technical logs, which arise from running the site in any case. No individual person is identified in the process.

Room booking via DIRS21

For room bookings we use the DIRS21 booking system. When you click the booking link, you leave our website and arrive on the pages of the external provider. The data you enter there, such as name, address, dates of travel and contact details, is first processed by the provider and then passed on to us so that we can handle your booking. The provider's privacy policy applies to the processing on the booking pages.

DIRS21 is operated by TourOnline AG, Borsigstraße 26, 73249 Wernau, Germany. You can find their privacy policy at dirs21.de/disclaimer.
