Walking around Stockum.
Walk first, then take your time at the table.
The Sauerländer Siebengebirge begins behind the house: forest paths, long views across the valleys and Lake Sorpe just next door. We are happy to tell you which route suits the day, and the table will be laid when you get back.
Culinary Walk
Through Stockum in stages, course by course.
The Culinary Walk leads through Stockum in several stages. You walk between the stops, and at each stop a course is waiting. Because the hosts of Stockum put the day on together, a different kitchen cooks at every stop. How many stops there are and what comes to the table is decided afresh each year.
The pace is easy and the distances in the village are short. Between the courses there is time to talk, and by the end you know not only Stockum but also the people who cook here. Do sign up in advance, so that every kitchen can prepare properly.
The next dates have not been fixed yet. As soon as they are, you will find them here. Do get in touch with us in the meantime: by phone on 02933 97946-0 or via the enquiry form. Then we will let you know as soon as the next date is set.
Pub tour
The Stockum pub tour.
A sociable round of the pubs and inns of Stockum: from house to house, a drink at each one, a few words and different faces at the table. From one stop to the next it is only a few minutes on foot.
With us an evening like that often ends in the Bierstube, where guests and locals stand at the same bar. Anyone who would rather not drive afterwards sleeps one flight up.
Herb walk
What grows along the path.
With the spice expert Ines Wirth we head into the meadows and woods around Stockum and look more closely: which herbs grow here, how to recognise them, what they taste of and what becomes of them in the kitchen. It is a slow walk, with plenty of stopping along the way.
Afterwards we stop in at the inn, and what was talked about along the way turns up again at the table.
On the doorstep
Set off without getting into the car.
Stockum lies at the edge of the Sauerländer Siebengebirge. The Rehbergkapelle on the ridge above the village is one of the places you can reach from here on foot. From up there you can see how small Stockum is among the woods.
- Start right at the house, the car can stay where it is
- Lake Sorpe is just next door
- We are happy to tell you which route suits the weather
After the walk, a bed and a beer.
After a whole day out, nobody wants to go far in the evening. Here both are under one roof: the laid table and the bed for the night.
