Lake Sorpe
Swimming in summer, sailing when the wind is right and a path that runs all the way round the water. If you like being outdoors, a whole day here goes quickly.
The area & things to do
The Sauerland begins at the front door.
We are in Stockum, a district of Sundern, at the edge of the Sauerländer Siebengebirge and close to Lake Sorpe. Over the years, one of the oldest coaching inns in the Sauerland has become our country inn: a good base for walkers, cyclists and anyone simply after a few quiet days.
Nearby
Water, woods and ridge paths all lie close together. Tell us over breakfast what you feel like today, and we will send you off with the right suggestion.

The walking paths start right at the door: up through the woods, along the tops and back down into the village. Sturdy shoes are enough, the landscape does the rest.
Around Stockum there are routes for bike and e-bike of every length, from an easy loop through the valley to a ride over the tops. Back at the house, the beer garden and a cold drink are waiting.
A golf course just next door, for a round in the morning or a full day's play. We are happy to serve breakfast earlier if your tee time calls for it.
When there is snow on the ground, winter sports are not far away: the Wildewiese ski area is just next door. Afterwards, hot food tastes twice as good.
Experience the Sauerland
It is no great distance from the ridge path to the lakeshore. Set off early and the woods are yours alone; if you would rather take it slowly, find a spot by the water or a bench with a view.
We are happy to tell you in person which paths are good just now. And if the day has been a long one, your room is ready.
